Commissioned

Jesus commanded us to concern ourselves not only with our cities, but the regions surrounding them and even to the ends of the earth. Making the gospel known to those haven't heard. This is our desire for Japan, to make Christ known amongst one of the most unreached people groups in the world.Japan is known for many things. Samurai, Ninja, Feudal wars, Karaoke, Fashion, and advancements in technology are just a few. Sadly, Japan is not known for it’s over zealousness towards the Gospel, or it’s people’s willingness to serve Jesus as Christ and King. Japan despite being modern nation, remains one of the most unreached places in the world. We desire to see that change.

Today, 128 million people call Japan home and less than 1% percent of those people worship and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the vehicle by which the gospel will be made known in Japan is the local church. Karis Church began praying in 2011 about what it might look like to see churches planted in Japan the continue to plant churches. In 2013, that vision began to take shape as we traveled to Japan to meet with various church leaders and planters around Japan to seek out potential partnerships. This summer we will return to Japan with a vision for ministry in Tokyo.
