Mission Trips in Spring 2013
We believe our God is a missional God and that he has created us in his image to be a missional people. That means serving and sharing the gospel both here in our city and abroad. Karis currently sends teams to two countries, Brazil and Japan. Brazil
Brazil is the largest country in South America and is quickly becoming a cultural center. Brazil will host the 2014 World Cup, and thousands of people will travel to Rio de Janiero. Karis is planning our third trip to Brazil during spring break, March 22 – April 1, 2013. We will be working with Restore Brazil to serve and share the gospel in the favelas (slums) of Brazil. The cost of the trip should be about $2,100.
Japan
In May 2012 we sent a small vision team to Chiba City, Japan, to investigate missional opportunities in Japan. Japan is in desperate need of the gospel. According to Joshua Project, only 1.2% of Japanese identify as Christian. We are planning to send a team from Karis to partner with a local church planter in a Japanese city. The trip will take place May 28 – June 6, 2013.
