The Lord's Supper this Sunday

In taking the Lord’s Supper together each week, our tradition in Karis has always been one of taking from a common loaf and dipping into the cup. Out of caution during the pandemic, we utilized pre-packaged communion cups, and then provided pre-torn bread and pre-poured juice in a step towards our regular method. Beginning this Sunday, February 26th, we will return to our pre-pandemic process for taking the Lord’s Supper together, with some available accommodations.

Towards the end of the Gathering, if you are a baptized believer who would like to participate in the Lord’s Supper, you will be invited to come to the front of the auditorium to take the bread and the cup. Those serving communion will be holding a loaf from which you can tear a piece and a cup into which you can dip your piece of bread.

The pre-packaged communion cups will continue to be made available, for those who prefer this option, on both communion tables up front, in the back of the auditorium, and in the balcony. For those who are gluten-free, pre-torn gluten-free bread pieces will be available on both communion tables. The main loaves on both sides will be regular bread (containing wheat, gluten, and soy).

We look forward to taking the Lord’s Supper together with you this Sunday!
