Join Karis Church for Porterbrook Learning

Porterbrook Learning Fall 2017 Launch

Have you ever wanted to go deeper in your missional, theological, and doctrinal understanding and activity? Ever desired to attend seminary but couldn't find the time or money? Do you learn better through conversation more than the classroom? Porterbrook Learning may be right for you.

We are excited to relaunch Porterbrook in Karis this fall. Porterbrook is comprehensive training for Christians in the context of their local church and ministry. The courses teach you to live in the light of the Bible story at the heart level in the context of community on mission to the world. Porterbrook Learning helps ordinary Christians learn how to serve Jesus and his people better — whether they are church leaders, church planters, or simply Christians wanting to become more mission-focused. Karis Church, as a part of Acts 29, also is eligible for a terrific discount.

The full Porterbrook Learning lasts six terms, although you can commit to one term at a time. Each term is nine weeks long and covers four of the courses. Each week of a term will cover a unit of that term’s courses. At the end of each term a special assignment is due.

Porterbrook, at Karis, is set up in cohort style. A cohort is a group of individuals who meet to discuss the material that you have read and completed. The cohort will establish the day of the week and time that they will meet. The meetings typically require 1.5 hours of meeting and discussion time. The material requires 3-5 hours of dedication per week for reading and response. There will be women's and men's cohort held each week.
