Women's Katalyst this Sunday

Join with the women of Karis for Katalyst, a monthly time of study, prayer and fellowship, on Sunday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall at Calvary. Alison Ballou will lead on the theology and practicalities of adoption, widow and orphan care.

When we are saved, we are also adopted by God, and with that comes tremendous blessing – which comes with a call to be part of His work. He is a “Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows” and “sets the lonely in families” (Psalm 68). He tells us that, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction,” (James 1:27a) and that what He requires of us is to, “do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8b).

This is a call to all of us to be involved in caring for widows and orphans in some way. We’ll talk about what it means that we are adopted by God and various ways that we can practically be involved in caring for widows and orphans.
